What courses does KISS offer?
KISS offers a wide range of Certificate, Diploma, Artisan, and Short Professional Courses across several schools including:
- School of Community Development and Social Work (Social Work, Counseling Psychology, Disaster Management, Criminology)
- School of Health and Applied Sciences (Nursing Assistant, Community Health, Nutrition, HIV Testing & Counseling)
- School of Business Studies
- School of Hospitality & Tourism

- School of Hairdressing, Beauty & Fashion
What are the entry requirements for Diploma courses?
Most Diploma programs require a minimum of KCSE Mean Grade C- (Minus).
Some courses like Social Work, Community Development, and Counseling Psychology accept C- and above.
Certificate courses require D plain or D+ while Artisan courses accept E and below.
Exact requirements vary by course — check the specific program page or contact admissions.
When are the intakes?
We have three (3) main intakes every year:
- January Intake
- May Intake
- September Intake
Intake is currently ongoing. Early application is encouraged as some popular courses fill up quickly.
Do you offer Social Work and Counseling courses?
Yes. These are among our flagship programs under the
School of Community Development and Social Work.
We offer:
- Diploma in Social Work & Community Development
- Diploma in Counseling Psychology
- Certificate in Social Work
- HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC)
Is KISS registered and accredited?
Yes. KISS is fully registered with TVETA (Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority)
and accredited by NITA (National Industrial Training Authority).
Many of our courses are examined by KNEC, KASNEB, and ICM.
Do you offer virtual or distance learning?
Yes. We offer Open, Virtual, and Distance Learning options for many of our courses,
especially Business Studies, Social Work, Counseling, and some short courses.
This is ideal for working students and those outside Machakos/Mlolongo.
How much are the fees?
Fees vary depending on the course and duration.
We offer very competitive and affordable fees compared to other institutions.
Payment can be done in installments.

Can I apply with a KCSE grade below C-?
Yes. We have Certificate and Artisan level programs suitable for D, D+, and E grades.
Popular options include Community Health, Social Work Certificate, Hairdressing, Catering, and various short courses.
Do you help with job placement or attachment?
Yes. We have strong industry linkages with NGOs, hospitals, hotels, and government departments.
Our students receive guidance for industrial attachment and many of our graduates secure employment through our alumni and partner network.
